An exceptional Cerussite specimen from the historic Flux Mine in Arizona's famous Harshaw Mining District. The Flux Mine is one of the most celebrated cerussite localities in the American Southwest and is renowned for producing spectacular needle-like crystal formations that have become highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

This specimen originates from a mining district with a rich history of lead, silver, copper, and precious metal production dating back to the 19th century. The Flux Mine became especially famous for its remarkable cerussite occurring within the oxidized portions of the deposit, where some of the finest Arizona examples were recovered.

Collector Notes

The Flux Mine is particularly famous for producing spectacular “jackstraw” cerussite formations composed of densely packed acicular and pencil-like crystals. Historic reports describe large masses of silky white cerussite hanging from mine workings, a feature for which the mine became internationally known among mineral collectors.

Today, Flux Mine cerussite remains highly desirable among collectors specializing in Arizona minerals, historic American mining localities, carbonate minerals, oxidation-zone minerals, and museum-quality crystal specimens.

Condition

Please review all photographs carefully for crystal quality, matrix, contact points, and overall condition, as they are considered part of the description. Cerussite is naturally fragile and delicate crystal formations may exhibit minor contact marks resulting from natural formation and recovery.
