Bruderheim L6 Chondrite — Individual (7.9g)

SOLD

Bruderheim is one of the most celebrated witnessed meteorite falls in Canadian history. On the morning of March 4, 1960 at 08:06 UT, a brilliant bolide lit up the sky over Alberta, scattering a shower of over 350 stones across an area 3 km wide near Bruderheim, Alberta (53°54'N, 112°54'W). The fall was witnessed by many observers and investigated by Professor R. E. Folinsbee of the University of Alberta. Total recovered mass exceeded 180 kg from the original shower; total known mass is 303 kg.

This specimen is a single stone individual weighing 7.9 grams, measuring 22 × 18 × 12 mm. It displays excellent fusion crust with striking secondary burn features — evidence of the intense atmospheric entry heating. A visually compelling and historically significant piece from a classic Canadian fall. Provenance: ex. Jensen collection.
